Anova 2240

A light, cool grey that is all grain: small quartz fragments in white, grey and dark, dense and entirely even. This is the pale version of 2270 — the same texture, a great deal more light.

Because it is pale it does not shrink a room the way a dark grey can, and because it is granular it still hides crumbs and surface scratches. A combination that works well in a white kitchen that wants a touch of colour without committing to a dark.

Anova Quartz is an Israeli maker and importer based in Be'er Sheva, supplying engineered quartz with a high quartz content and a twelve-year warranty (registered online after installation). The quartz is non-porous — it will not absorb wine, lemon or oil, it never needs resealing, and soap and water handle the daily clean. Like all engineered quartz it is not heat-proof, so a hot pan goes on a trivet rather than on the worktop.
