A mid-to-dark grey that is all grain: broken quartz at varying sizes, dense and even across the whole slab, with the occasional white sparkle catching the light. The look is industrial and tactile, close to terrazzo or exposed concrete.

A dark grey is a good compromise between white and black: it does not show crumbs the way a white does or dust the way a black does, and the grain hides surface scratches better than a smooth surface. It works well against pale timber, white, and stainless steel.

Anova Quartz is an Israeli maker and importer based in Be'er Sheva, supplying engineered quartz with a high quartz content and a twelve-year warranty (registered online after installation). The quartz is non-porous — it will not absorb wine, lemon or oil, it never needs resealing, and soap and water handle the daily clean. Like all engineered quartz it is not heat-proof, so a hot pan goes on a trivet rather than on the worktop.
