A completely solid, uniform white — not a crisp cold white but a soft one leaning minimally to cream, with no vein, no grain and no sparkle. A clean surface in the literal sense.

This is the white for a modern or minimalist line, or for any kitchen where the cabinetry and the splashback do all the work. Two notes: a solid white shows coffee, wine and turmeric immediately — the quartz will not absorb them, but you have to wipe, and there is no pattern to hide anything in the meantime. Surface scratches also stand out on it more than on a granular surface.

Anova Quartz is an Israeli maker and importer based in Be'er Sheva, supplying engineered quartz with a high quartz content and a twelve-year warranty (registered online after installation). The quartz is non-porous — it will not absorb wine, lemon or oil, it never needs resealing, and soap and water handle the daily clean. Like all engineered quartz it is not heat-proof, so a hot pan goes on a trivet rather than on the worktop.
