Silestone Yukon

From Silestone's River series: a white that is not a crisp white — there is a little grey damping it, and fine grey tones scattered softly over the ground to give it some air. From across the room it reads as a quiet white surface; up close a light movement appears that keeps it from the flatness of a solid white.

Polished, in 2 and 3 cm, on a 327 × 159 cm slab. Silestone's quartz is non-porous — it will not absorb wine, lemon or oil and never needs resealing — but like all engineered quartz it is not heat-proof, and a hot pan goes on a trivet rather than on the worktop.
