Travertino Navona

Classic travertine in an ivory-grey tone with horizontal layering and a distinctly porous texture. A favourite in Mediterranean and soft-brutalist interiors, especially in a brushed finish that emphasises the texture.

In the kitchen shown it is cut as a waterfall island that exposes the horizontal bedding down the full height of the side, against pale timber and graphite cabinetry and a brass light. Behind it is a white-and-rose marble cladding, and the contrast between the travertine's warm beige and that cooler white is what gives the room its depth.
